Congress Schedule

Date: Sunday 23 July – Thursday 27 July, 2017 Venue: University of Ghana City: Accra, Ghana

This year YAWC will focus on projecting and promoting the effectiveness of women in leadership by kindling discussions and recommendations around the topic for effective implementation across appropriate quarters. We are in an era where Africa can boast of a strong demographic dividend and there is no better moment to stimulate such discussions on enhancing the involvement of women in the whole leadership circle and the merits therein than now.
Aside the usual women to women chats, discussions, presentations and brainstorming, YAWC 2017 inculcates a new segment known as “time with the men” to deliberately get men involved in the women empowerment agenda. Not forgetting the rare opportunities to be afforded some participants who are already on the ground championing the women empowerment agenda to throw light on their efforts in order to inspire others.

The main areas of interest for the congress will be the following:

  • Women in Public Sector Leadership
  • Women in Private Sector Leadership
  • Women and Politics/Governance
  • Demographic Dividend and Teenage Pregnancy
