𝗬𝗔𝗪𝗖 𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗡 𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔’𝗦 𝗘𝗢𝗖𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗦

The Young African Women Congress Network, Ghana Chapter has paid a courtesy call on the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office, Commissioner of Police Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah at her office in Accra.

The YAWC Network delegation which was led by the Ghana Chapter President, Matilda Hammond was warmly received by the EOCO Boss and her entire team.

The purpose of the meeting was to officially invite her as a keynote speaker for the YAWC Network Ghana National Summit slated for Saturday, 27th April, 2024 at the African Regent Hotel, Accra. The group also put in a request for COP Tiwaa to become one of the Patrons for the Ghana Chapter of the Network, a move which will enhance their women empowerment agenda in the country.

COP Tiwaa expressed her joy about the good course of the YAWC Network in empowering and mentoring young girls and women to find their purpose and realize their full potentials in life. She added that a lot of young women and girls have cringed because they have no mentors to provide guidance on career path and professional opportunities. She further stated that mentorship can provide encouragement and support in helping young girls and women to build confidence in their abilities. She also added that, girls when given opportunity as boys/men, tend to perform well and women need to be empowered more to do more.

She expressed her excitement as she accepted to be a speaker on the aforementioned date as well as a patron, and ever ready to partner the YAWC Network to empower young girls and women to become valuable in the society.

The Global Projects and Campaigns Committee member for the Network, Judith Kafui Darkey who was part of the delegation, shared the Network’s upcoming Programs for the year which included, Girls in Stem Program, 16 days of activism against gender based violence, the Annual Continental Convocation, FGM and Women in Tech.

In her vote of thanks, Sandra Abayateye, a member of the Ghana Chapter of the Network, expressed the group’s profound gratitude to COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah for her warm reception and her readiness to work with the group.
