Cynthia Kaminta has been appointed as the Executive Secretary for the YAWC Network secretariat in accordance with Article 14 of the YAWC Network constitution, which enjoins the network to establish the Global Secretariat (referred to as the ‘Secretariat) as the administrative body of the network internationally, with the Executive Secretary being the chief administrative officer for the Network. She is responsible for the day to day running of the Secretariat which is headquartered in Accra-Ghana. Cynthia earned this position after going through a rigorous appointment process where she was selected from a number of applicants who applied for the top job of the YAWC Network.

Cynthia is a confident, eloquent and optimistic young woman who always seeks to challenge herself in every endeavor she finds herself. She once participated in a business pageant for women dubbed “Girl Empowered”, organized by the TANOE Startups Network where she emerged as the 2nd runner-up. As a young woman, she believes that there is nothing that she sets her mind to do that cannot be achieved.

Cynthia has worked as an Assistant Administrative Secretary for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Ghana. She handled programmes and other administrative responsibilities at the Christian institution. She has also worked in different organisations including Regional Coordinating Council in Ashanti Region, Kumasi and Tropenbos Ghana as an Intern. Whiles pursuing her Post Graduate Degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), she is a member of the Women’s Commission of the Graduate Students Association (GRASAG) of the school with a specific responsibility of liaising between the Commission and the Department of Planning. She is the founder of “Glow Afrique”, a company that deals in the marketing and sale of African made products.

She holds a degree in BSc. Development Planning and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Planning at KNUST.
