Mary Ogundimu has been re-appointed by the YAWC Network Council to Lead the Nigeria Chapter of the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network for another two year term. Having led the Chapter since 2018, her contribution has strengthened the Network in the country. It is for this reason that the council has given her another opportunity to lead the pan-African women movement to actualise its aspirations in the country.

Mary is a self-conscientious motivated lady, passionate about women development and enhancement. She is a communications expert who specialises in using storytelling and deep contents to reconstruct and correct everyday narratives and life experiences.

She is the founder of the MultiWoman Network, a youth led organisation that empowers women and the girl child with basic skill sets for maximizing their potentials and becoming global citizens. Every year, she convenes the MultiWoman Conference, a signature event that brings women from all walks of life to tell their stories, share and proffer solutions to issues of economic empowerment and grassroots development for women. She currently serves as the Events and Networking Chair for YALI RLC Alumni, Nigeria, using her office to birth different programs and project that centre on leadership and capacity building for global thought leaders. Mary is also the co-lead for Google WomenWill, Yaba, Lagos.

In the last 6 years, Mary worked as a customer service representative and data analyst at Access bank plc and later switched career path to first becoming an Interior designer, and later a Google certified digital consultant. On the side, she is a smart and energetic event host, voice over artist, and former co-host of the weekly series of interviews on The Ambassadors Radio Show with outstanding entrepreneurs, using the stories to inspire over 5000 youths in Lagos. In April 2019, she launched the MultiWoman Mentorship Academy and is currently using this platform to assist about 25 women in birthing their realities. She currently works as the programs manager for OAR & D (a research and development firm, helping to build a productive and prosperous Africa.

Mary is an Alumni of the SMILE social Innovators program, an Alumni of the Nirmala Chellarams Accelerator Program, a YALI fellow and Alumni and a volunteer at different capacities. She has a BSc in Mass Communication from National Open University in Nigeria and National Diploma in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic also in Nigeria.

Mary has won several awards including the Best mentee of the True Kolours Mentor-Me Challenge in 2017; Emerging Leaders Award from Amborion Global Media, organizers of the Ambassadors Summit and in 2019 and the Achievers Award courtesy of Fatsplash Leadership and Empowerment/ Deeper Life High Sch. She was also selected as one of the Carrington’s best 60, out of over 2000plus applicants

She is the author of STRETCH, a book on self-development, which is fast becoming one of Amazon’s best seller.

In the same regard, Dr. Uduak Akpabio has been appointed as the Vice President of the Chapter to assist Ms. Ogundimu to achieve the objectives of the Network in the country.

Dr. Uduak Akpabio has an MSc in Veterinary Public Health & Preventive Medicine from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine also from the same University. She is a Lecturer at Michael Okpara University in Nigeria. She is a Researcher in Molecular Epidemiology of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in pigs and in-contact humans and she has over twenty (22) Publications in Peer-reviewed Journals.
