Sequel to the Call for Nominations of Global President and Global Vice President of Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network, the Committee is pleased to announce that a member from the Uganda Chapter Ms Jacqueline Nyapendi has emerged as the sole nominee for the position of Global President after successfully going through the vetting process.
Furthermore, for the position of Global Vice President, Mrs. Mamuna Kamara Waydon, from Liberia Chapter and Mrs. Evelyn Oye Lamptey, from Ghana Chapter emerged as the only nominees to stand for the upcoming election.
By the election schedule and procedure, all Chapter Executives of the countries that have been appointed will form part of the Electoral College as well as 6 each other members nominated by the Chapter Executives.
In all, each of the countries will be represented by 10 people in the Electoral College.
Election is schedule to take place on Saturday 19th September, 2020 from 10:00GMT to 23:59GMT and new executives sworn into office on Wednesday, 23rd September, 2020.
The Committee congratulates the nominees on their success and also extends her good wishes to the candidates in the upcoming elections.
