The Elections Committee of Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network is pleased to announce the outcome of the elections for Global President and Global Vice President. The elections which were held online, on the 19th of September, 2020 from 10:30 to 23:59 GMT+1 had Ms. Jacqueline Nyapendi from Uganda Chapter contesting unopposed for the position of Global President. She had landslide victory, winning the election with 43 votes, making 97.7% of the 44 total votes cast. Consequently, Ms Jacqueline Nyapendi has emerged as the Global President-elect of YAWC Network.
Furthermore, two candidates; Mrs. Mamuna M. Kamara Waydon from Liberia Chapter and Mrs. Evelyn Oye Lamptey from Ghana Chapter vied for the position of Global Vice President. However, Mrs. Evelyn Oye Lamptey won the election with 23 votes, making 52.3% of the 44 total votes cast by members of the Electoral College from all Chapters of YAWC Network. Therefore, she has emerged the Global Vice President-elect of the YAWC Network.
