YOUNG AFRICAN WOMEN LEADING CHANGE

Having attended all the previous sessions of the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) since its inception in 2016, Yaa Aduba Asare, a Ghanaian young woman was inspired by Dr Wangui Wa Goro (a Kenyan Scholar), the Keynote Speaker for YAWC 2017, who challenged participants to be confident in their capabilities and start economic and social intervention projects that are worth celebrating.

In October 2017, Yaa mustered the courage and started a Poultry farm with 300 layers at her backyard at Adenta in Accra, Ghana.

For the past 17 months, NAYA Success Axis Farms has raised almost 2000 birds and produced over 3000 crates of eggs to augment food security in the Adentan Municipality.

In April this year, Yaa resigned from her 10-year HR and Administrative Managerial Job at a renowned institution to fully concentrate and expand her farm. She hopes to raise over hundred thousand birds within the next five years.

As the Leader of the Ghanaian Delegation for YAWC and a member of the YAWC Network, Yaa hopes to train more women and girls in the Poultry Value Chain as she positions herself to become a leading Agribusiness Entrepreneur in Africa.

Young African Women Congress (YAWC) indeed inspires Women for Continental Development and Integrates them for a better World.
