Akosua Frema Osei-Opare is the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana and the first woman to be appointed to that position. She has been a Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in Ghana from 2005 to 2012. She served as Deputy Minister of Manpower, Youth and Employment from 2005 to 2008.

She is a former Country Director for Action Aid Ghana. She was also the Chairperson of the Conflict Resolution Committee of the 2012 campaign in the biggest opposition party in Ghana at the time.She is a former Lecturer and Head of Department for Home Science in the University of Ghana.
