< Derrick Abankwah, joined ExLA Group in April 2011 after he had received a nomination letter from the organisation to serve on the nominations board for the organization’s maiden awards event known as ExLA Awards in 2011. He currently holds the position of Director of Operations of ExLA Group and serves on committees including ExLA Group Strategic Committee, Young African Women Congress and ExLA Group Agriculture Programme as Chair. As Director of Operations, he sees to the effective management and organisation of all programmes and activities of the Group with emphasis on quality setups and procedures for achieving targets.
Derrick once served as the Director for External Affairs having shown dexterity in the attainment of the nominations board’s goal of a successful ExLA Awards event.

He is the founder and acting Executive Director for the educational consultancy firm called Scholars Educational Institute; established in 2016 which has specialty in offering educational consultancy, notably career guidance, organising examination fora for BECE and WASSCE candidates, setting examination questions for basic and senior high schools, marking scripts, assessing and evaluating students and proffering measures to help weak students, among others.

Derrick is currently pursuing a master’s programme in International Affairs at the University of Ghana, Legon having successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Geography from the same University.
He is a trained Human Resource person with an Advanced Executive Certificate in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Governance and Leadership. He also possesses Administrative and Organisational skills, Skilled at Conflict Resolution, Monitoring and Assessing Performance of organisations to make improvements or take corrective action and Instructional and Planning Skills.
Derrick has a life philosophy which is embedded in the saying, ‘man’s problem is imminent but for a while. Its initial solution is a creation of the mind but sustainable when actualised’. This simply means that, to every man’s problem there is a panacea, the foundation of entrepreneurship.
