The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network Council has appointed Rebecca Colecraft as the new President for YAWC Network, Ghana Chapter in accordance with Article 16(1b) of the YAWC Network Constitution. Rebecca’s position is crucial as the network has set out to create real impact in our society. She is expected to lead the country’s chapter to actualise it’s aspirations during her two year renewable term.

Rebecca is the Principal Programmes Officer for the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Ghana and she has over thirteen years working experience in governance & democracy, gender advocacy, administration, and communication in both public and private sectors. She is also experienced in marketing, branding and advertising.

Rebecca has successfully managed a Citizenship Week celebration; a flagship programme of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Ghana. This is a yearly programme that targets over 10,000 basic schools to inculcate in them the act of civic responsibility. She has also coordinated and implemented a child marriage project sponsored by UNICEF in six regions and successfully rescued 2 teenage girls who are back in school.

Her confidence in public speaking, extensive knowledge in governance and community engagement has put her in the position to lead any team and function effectively.

Rebecca holds an MBA Finance from the University of Cape Coast Ghana, Post Graduate Diploma-Marketing (CIM-UK) PART II from University College of Management Studies and BBA Banking and Finance from Methodist University College, Ghana.

In the same regard, Mariama Alelemoma Yakubu has been appointed as an able Vice to Rebeca Colecraft. Mariama’s activeness in the affairs of the network is very impressive, hence her selection as the Vice President for the Ghana chapter.
