“Welcome Note by Chairman of YAWC Council at the Swearing-In Ceremony of Newly Elected Global President and Vice-President and YAWC Network Chapter Executives.

The Chairperson, Management of ExLA Group, Members of the YAWC Council, Global President and Global Vice-President elect, Executives of Country Chapters, Members of the YAWC Team, Ladies and Gentlemen.

I speak with delight and fulfilment at the swearing-in ceremony of leaders elected and appointed for the various leadership roles of the YAWC Network.

I am delighted because I see the flame which was sparked about five-years ago to nurture young women of Africa to find their passion and influence change becoming an unwavering movement across all of Africa.

The YAWC Network which was borne out of the annual Young African Women Congress sought to mobilise the efforts of participants of the congress to influence change in their various communities and environments. However, to ensure that the change that is gained is inclusive, the newly structured YAWC Network opened up to many more young women for inclusiveness through a wider reach.

Today, we outdoor leadership which is poised to lead a movement, beyond confined sessions. A leadership that has imbibed the passion to engineer change through consistent engagements on real issues confronting women on a daily basis.

I am very confident that the Global President and her Vice, in collaboration with the YAWC Network Secretariat and the Chapter Executives will soon become a legacy which would inspire positive developments across all countries on the continent and the diaspora.

I would like to specially acknowledge and congratulate the Global President elect on her election as well as her Vice. I also congratulate all Chapter Presidents and their executive bodies on their appointment.

I am particularly grateful to you for your commitment towards this worthy cause and assure you that as an organisation, we will give you all the support you need to succeed.

My word to you as has been the guiding pillar for ExLA Group is that: Keep Pushing, Its Possible.
